The day after Christmas we went for a little hike at Anderson Lake.  Keanan and Kyla showed us all around to the spots they spend time at for nature class.

A Beautiful Wedding and A Little Bit of Christmas

On Saturday I flew to WA to celebrate my cousin Marie's wedding in Tacoma.  It was a beautiful ceremony, with Lucy and Kate as the flower girls!
Beautiful flower girls!
Ann, the beautiful bride Marie, and I.  Not sure what is happening with my goofy grin.
Sunday morning was the Crossroads Kids Christmas Program during 2nd service at church.  I was flying home at the time, so Zac videoed it.  Keanan had a speaking part - reciting the first 4 verses of Luke 2, and he did great!
This is one of the 3 songs that the kids sang.  Kyla is in the front/middle and Keanan in on the left hand side.
Earlier this week we all went to San Francisco for the Otto family Holiday party.  The company rented out a bowling alley for the evening and had yummy food.  We had fun in the photo booth and bowling a few rounds (I won!).

O Christmas Tree!

We had a fun week and weekend with lots of friend time, including a sleepover at our house Friday night!  After church on Sunday we had lunch with friends and then went to look at another piece of property on a creek with redwoods.  Then it was Christmas tree hunting in the Santa Cruz mountains!
The property we were looking at.  So pretty!

Found the perfect tree!
Helping Dad carry it
The tree fit in the car...kind of...
All decorated!
View from the sidewalk!  I love our rotating snowflake lights!
Zac, making fun of me in my giddiness about the awesome Christmas decorations!
Happy second week of Advent: One small baby in the hay, brings us PEACE of Christmas Day!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2016

We had a great weekend visiting with friends and family in Washington!  I regret, however, that my camera is still not working so we only have a few shots from Zac's phone.  One fun thing about this trip is that I got to see all my grandparents!  My Grandma was up from Arkansas and we had a nice lunch with my other Grandma and Papa.  Other highlights were spending the night at the Ireland's, snuggling with my nephew Jackson who is the happiest baby on the planet, church at Crossroads, kittens, silly girl cousins playing dress-up, and yummy food!
A few princesses
cousin dog pile!

so much rain at the river, it was so high!
Sunday morning sunrise at the Ireland Cabin
Vawter's and Ireland's taking our normal front row seats at church
Kyla fell asleep with her tongue sticking out and then complained that it was tingling when she woke up!
Buttercup and Thistle Johnson (we came up with their names)
We have so much to be thankful for!

Weekend Adventures: A creek in the redwoods

This last Saturday we took a trip to a piece of property in the Santa Cruz mountains that is for sale.  Aside from the trash (looks like someone had been squatting there) it was a very beautiful 9 acres with a peaceful creek and towering redwoods.  We are praying and researching about what the wisest next step is...
This Sunday was Orphan Sunday at our church and I am in charge of the giving tree in partnership with Help One Child which serves foster kids and their families in our area.  I was so proud of our church body by taking every single ornament!  I had to request more for the people that didn't get to take one.  What a great way to share the love of Jesus this Holy-day season.
This was Sunday afternoon.  Rest day!

A Grandma and Grandpa Halloween Weekend!

We had such a great weekend, everyone was sad to see it end.  On Friday afternoon the kids and I picked up my parents from the airport!  Once Zac got home from Pittsburgh/work he and I escaped for a getaway weekend in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  We rented a cottage by a pond and had a wonderful time by ourselves.
Taking a walk around the pond.  Aren't we cute?!
We went to dinner in Santa Cruz at a restaurant called Chocolate!  SOOOO good!
In the meantime.... Keanan and Kyla were being spoiled by Grandma and Grandma.  Milk duds and popcorn for lunch while watching a movie at the theater, pumpkin carving, pizza down the street for dinner, cinnamon rolls for breakfast before church - hard life!
ready for the movie!
Pumpkins!  Grandpa's, Kyla's and Keanan's.  We woke up this morning to find them smashed across the street :(  Punk teenagers!
this is what Grandma looks like when she's sewing - two glasses!  ;)
Zac and I came home Sunday afternoon and we all visited Nasa Ames Visitor's Center, had dinner and played a game before bed.
Grandpa and Kyla are going into space!
We took Mom and Dad back to the airport yesterday morning.  Everybody was sad.  But we did have a fun Halloween dressing up and trick or treating.
A bunny, a pirate (of course), and Darth Vader!  I was also a pirate handing out glow sticks :)

Fall 2016 Road Trip - Moab!

We have just returned from a 10 day trip in our A-Frame trailer to Moab, Utah and back!  We met up with Zac's parents to do some Jeeping, and spent a day with Zac's sister Cindy and niece Gabby.  Such a great time with lots of pictures!
Night one was at a campground in Tehachapi, CA.  The rope swing was a hit!
2nd day selfie!
The 2nd night was at Valley of Fire state park in Nevada.  Awesome red rock
That's me cooking dinner in the trailer.  The wind was so bad this night that we thought the sides were going to collapse!  It was actually worse sounding in the trailer than it really was.
Lots of climbing on the rock
3rd morning selfie
Valley of Fire had some cool petroglyphs and petrified logs.  School day!
Our 3rd night was at a beautiful mountain campground near Beaver, Utah.
4th morning selfie
We made it to Moab!  Pam and John were waiting for us in Sand Flats Campground.  We spent 5 days (4 nights) in Moab.
We rented Jeeps for two days that had lifts, 34" tires, lockers, and winches - all of which came in handy on the crazy trails!
Jeeping in the red rock - climbing up and down the fins!
On the trail!
Stopping for lunch with a view of the Colorado River.
One of the crazy things we did NOT do - a pot hole.
Keanan and Kyla spent most of the time at the campground playing in the sand!
Some static electricity fun before bed.
Kyla and cousin Gabby hanging out at the campground
Arches National Park!  It was so crowded.  We just spent some time at double arch, so amazing!
Climbing under double arch!
climbing around at Arches
Zac's sister Cindy took us on a hike - beautiful!
"Cave Art", thousands of years old!
the white stones are flakes from the ancient people making arrowheads!  Pretty awesome to have an aunt that is an archaeologist!
Family photo with Castle Valley in the background.
8th morning selfie - leaving Moab
8th night at Cave Lake state park in Nevada.  First showers since the last time we were in Nevada!!
9th day selfie - ice cream in Nevada
9th night at some weird campground outside of Truckee, CA.  It POURED rain in the night!
exploring in the morning
10th day selfie!!  We made it home!
We had a great time and can't wait to take the trailer out again.  Next weekend, an adventure with Grandma and Grandpa!

One other thing that happened last week! Otto(Uber) is Zac's work :)
