Weekend Adventures: With Auntie Jess in the new house!

We've had a fun weekend with Auntie Jess who flew in on Thursday night for the weekend.  Friday was spent at the Oakland Zoo!
Saturday was filled with ballet, a visit to the farmers market, a scenic flight over the bay for Zac and Jess, and hanging out at the house.  Auntie Jess and Kyla also made and frosted super fancy sugar cookies!  This was Kyla's birthday present from Auntie Jess - she loved it!

Sunday was filled with church, a fun picnic at the park that is RIGHT across the street from our house with the Scudder's, and a trip to Smitten ice cream thanks to Auntie Jess.

Each night after the kids head to bed I am doing a childbirth class for Jess.  It's a lot of information, but it's been really fun.

We are all totally moved into our new house!  I've been super busy and haven't taken any pictures!  I will try soon...

Weekend Adventure: With the Lathrop's and Moving!

My regular post is a few days late because WE HAVE MOVED!!  We are so excited to be in our new place and very grateful for the help of the friends that helped us yesterday.  Except for hanging pictures on the wall and cleaning the old house - I'm done!

Backing up a bit in our weekend - we had a great visit from my brother, sister-in-law, and their super cute little girls.  We spent time at lots of parks, Happy Hollow zoo, and just hanging out.  I'll try to add some more pictures when Elizabeth sends them to me.  It was so good to see them and snuggle my two youngest nieces - I am clearly their favorite! ;)
Aubrey loved Kyla's dress!
meeting Danny the Dragon
Piper loves to swing!
We also had a surprise visit Saturday night from two of the Ireland's!  Chris and Rahab couldn't get on the flight back home from Maui, so the closest thing was San Jose and then head home in the morning.  It was a short but fun visit :)

Next weekends adventures will be with Auntie Jess!

Weekend Adventures: Ballet Recital!

Who's the cutest red flower in the land?  Kyla of course!
First ballet recital!
with her friend Maggie
For your viewing pleasure I give you "Variations from Sleeping Beauty" starring Kyla!

She performed twice on Saturday for the recital and did a great job.  I was the "backstage mom" for the first performance and had no idea what I was doing.  I was exhausted by the end trying to keep all the little girls happy and quiet!  Her next performance is on June 20th in a full length ballet called "The Maiden's Visit".  She would love to have lots of people come watch!

Here's what the boy's did while Kyla and I were at the first performance:

Sunday was spent at church and attending the membership class afterwards (we're becoming actual members!).  I got to teach a private childbirth class to some friends at church while Zac and the kids went to an indoor trampoline place and over to the Hoffman's for dinner afterwards.

Next week the Lathrop's are here (my brother, sister-in-law and two nieces!) and we MOVE!!

Weekend Adventures: Kyla's Birthday Party and the Guy's Flight Up the Coast!

This weekend we celebrated Kyla, who is turning 5 this coming Friday!  Kyla had a ballerina tea party with seven friends.  She was a great helper getting ready for the party: we served mini tuna salad crackers, mini egg salad crackers, mini apple slices, and of course - cupcakes!  The girls loved the tea (apple juice) in real tea cups, and the party favor was that they got to take their tea cups home!  I can't believe this sweet little ballerina is turning 5 *sigh*

All ready for the tea party!
Blowing out 5 candles!
While the girls were tea-partying it up, the boys went on a fly out to Booneville!  There were a number of people from Zac's work with planes that were planning a day trip up the coast, so Zac and Keanan hopped in with one of them and had a great time.  Here's some pictures:
