Homeschool: Week of 2-24

This was week 6 of first grade for Keanan, and E week of preschool for Kyla: "Even a child is known by her deeds. Prov. 20:11"  Keanan is working on long vowels now, even though we have talked a little bit about them in the past.  He is really picking up on the reading rules and remembering all the blends.  It's fun to see his confidence growing in this area.

Besides book club, BSF, and ballet class for Kyla, Keanan's lego team made their presentation board this week for the expo coming up on March 9th in Seattle.  They did such a great job and I am so excited to watch them present at the expo!
As of 5:30pm today (Friday) Zac will be on a 4 week sabbatical from work!!!  He will be focusing on finishing up his first masters program class.  We also hope to take an epic family adventure that is yet undetermined!

The sun has come back to visit us this week and we are enjoying every moment of it!

Homeschool: Week of 2-17

This was week 5 of 1st grade and week F of preschool.  Kyla's verse was John 3:16 and we had fun memorizing it.  Keanan was focusing this week on different consonant blends like sh, ch, th, and ng.  It's fun to watch him learn these new things and grow in his reading confidence.

This was another busy week with ballet, BSF, lego club, a day at Grandma's house - in addition to Zac being gone in CA all day Wednesday (more about that next week).

Lego Fun!

Wednesday was also Eli's 1st birthday!!!  Hard to believe a year has already gone by.  We got to celebrate with him at his birthday party today.  Love that little man!

Homeschool: Week of 2-10

This was week 4 of first grade, and I week for Kyla: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"  Phil. 4:13
Besides our normal homeschool stuff, we had a very busy week with homeschool book club, ballet class, lego club, Kyla's 4 year checkup at the doctor, and cousins Lucy and Kate staying the night on Friday!  Lots of fun!

The lego team creation so far, a volcano.  It's looking good and has robotic parts!

A Ballerina Birthday Party!

Kyla's gift from us this year was a special ballerina birthday party at the ballet studio where she takes lessons.  It was such a fun time (and I didn't have to clean up!).  The kids got to do a craft, have a little dance class, watch a real ballerina perform, and have cupcakes.  Kyla loved it!

Big thank you to Chris Ireland for taking all the pictures!!!
