Washington Summer 2017

The kids and I had a wonderful visit with family in Washington for about 2 weeks.  We arrived right after our Alaska trip as Zac continued on home to go back to work.  We stayed with Nana and Grandpa, Auntie Ann and Uncle Brian, and Grandma and Grandpa at the river.

Some of the fun things: metal working with Grandpa in Mossyrock.  Kyla got to attend Girl Scout Day Camp with Lucy and Kate, Keanan got to do the ropes course at NW Trek with Uncle Brian and see a movie.  We did the zoo with the cousins, the beach, and the Lake with Auntie Linda.  Zip line, fishing, mud, archery, smores, climbing trees, and trampoline jumping at the river.  So much fun!  Enjoy the pictures!

We had a wonderful week in Alaska with the Ireland's!  Hiking, glaciers, bears, moose, mountains (everywhere!), gold mines, launching cars off a cliff (Glacier View 4th of July!), roller blading, sunshine at 11pm, and so much more!  Thanks for such a great time Greg, Chris, Esther, Jadon, and Rahab - we miss you!!

Young Lives Camp 2017

This little chunk is Angel.  I got to hang out with him for 5 days while his mommy got to be a teen for a while and hear the good news of Jesus love.  This last weekend I was serving as a nursery leader at Young Life's Woodleaf camp in the foothills of the sierra's.  My nursery was the 17 - 22 month olds and I had 13 kiddos in there with 11 childcare helpers.  It was crazy and wonderful all at the same time.  All except for the lice outbreak - that was not wonderful.  (I'm all clear)

There were about 70 babies, 60 mommies, 56 childcare workers and a bunch of leaders at camp this week.  Yesterday, the last day of camp, we were all in the club room for "say so" where the girls stood up and said if they had made a decision to follow Jesus that week.  About 42 girls stood up!  It made all the long, hard hours worth it.

I'm excited to go back next year!  Maybe you'll consider joining me... :)

Father's Day Weekend - Camping in the Sierra's

We had a wonderful, and warm weekend camping at Summerdale campground just 30 min south of Yosemite Valley.   This is the closest campground to the south entrance to Yosemite without actually being in the park - and there were a gazillion people in the park this weekend!!

We left Friday night after a surprise visit and dinner with Captain Greg Ireland, who had a layover in San Jose!  Our plan Saturday morning was to head into Yosemite, but cars were backed up for miles waiting just to enter the gate.  Instead we did some jeeping up into the hills and found a manned fire lookout on Signal Peak!  The watchman was really nice and let us check out the tower and eat our lunch there.  Amazing views!

We found the watch tower!
Saturday afternoon was spent swimming in the creek at our campground.  It was COLD, but Zac and the kids didn't care.  They had the most fun playing in the waterfall!

On Sunday we got up a little earlier and made it into Yosemite!  There were so many people so we just spent a short time at Bridalveil Falls and starring up at El Capitan.  AMAZING!

Temps reached 105 on the way home so we had to stop for a swim to cool off.  The house was still over 90 when we got home at 8pm!!  We're in for a warm week!
